Inspiration and Motivation

Inspiration is that feeling of enthusiasm and what better way of bringing your creativity together is being able to source beautiful fabrics and haberdashery. Finding quality crafting materials which are at affordable prices is not easy and crafters are increasingly looking for inspiration, ideas or the sourcing of new new materials.

My passion for crafting is a genuine move towards inspiring and motivating and art and craft-based activities are a core part of my free time and beneficial to my health and wellbeing. Belonging to something useful and genuine has been a move towards reigniting my inspiration and motivation.

The core characteristics of the Arts and Crafts movement are a belief in craftsmanship which stresses the inherent beauty of the material, the importance of nature as inspiration, and the value of simplicity, utility, and beauty.

Take for instance decoupage, it is the art of decorating an object in combination with special paint effects, gold leaf and other decorative elements, but I never knew just how easy it is to decorate an object with paper cut outs.

The methods and techniques of decoupage are used to personalise almost any item in the home and it is a great way to use up many things lying around the home, so you don't have to buy a selection of resources specifically to engage in this craft and your designs can be as simple or as detailed as you like.
